We gathered between the new moon on April 10 to the new moon on May 10 2013.

 

The gathering was an awakening for many rainbows new and old. We awakened to the truth of the Rainbow spirit and sat in a vision council over 5 days.

 

It was agreed that the guidelines for the Rainbow family in Australia could be improved. A sister raised the issue of hypocrisy in rules. We saw that when we said, for example; "No Dogs", that's what we want, but some people see it as a rule. When family arrive believing that the rule will be respected, they are often disappointed when  they see a dog. We argued that we should tell them "No dogs".  Who would do that 24/7? We agreed that it was impossible to organise to that extent and still be considered respectful.

We spoke at length about what it meant to want no dogs, no drugs etc.It was found that we do want the message of respect to come across in a way that displays our values to the newcomer or the dog owner, and encourages them to grow in the light of the love we shine.

 

Consensus:
 

We will have no rules (except those to maintain hygene*). We will have only guide-lights. These guide-lights illuminate the entrance to the gathering, raising awareness of hygiene and respect for what we gather to achieve.



No longer will we pretend to ban things and present hypocritical authority.
